PS Audio has announced they are going 100% direct sales. Dropping the entire dealer network. They will give full trade in value for trade-ins and a 30 day free return policy. They are coming out w/a new speaker line. Wonder how that will affect their sales. :)

Giving up your dealer network and going to direct sales is a HUGE decision for the company. Dealers support brands that are profitable and that support their dealers with product availability, advertising, promotions, etc. Sales people support brands for those same reasons, plus they usually have personal favorites which they support enthusiastically. So, has PS Audio slipped up on its products or its dealer support? Whichever it is, this is probably the beginning of the end for PS Audio. If they couldn't support and promote their products well enough to sustain a reliable dealer network, then how likely are they to be able to successfully do it for direct/online sales? Give it a couple more years of declining sales .... and they'll be gone.
In an age where the 'benefits' of designer power cables and outlets are easily debunked, it's just a matter of time before these snake oil salespeople go out of business.

Well, if all their prices drop by 40% because they are skipping the dealers and their additional mark-up, then they might make this work!

Doesn't seem to be any evidence of that. In fact one of the complaints PS Audio had w/dealers is they were offering discounts on their products. You'll get a generous trade in (if you have something to trade) but you'll pay full price. Also as I stated they have a line of speakers coming out w/no dealerships to offer a demo. Prices are not on the low side. But there are plenty of speaker companies that are exclusively direct sales.:)
Did any online dealers actually have any stock of PS Audio products? Every time I looked, it was a drop-ship type of deal.

I was considering buying a Sprout as a 2nd system for the dining room...then I saw the measurements of that device. I know measurements aren't necessarily everything, but they were pretty ugly for something that cost $599.
