PS3 1.8 and PT-AE900U

I can confirm that 720p for Blu Ray works ... BUT I had to switch 1080p/24 output from automatic to off for it to work on my projector (Panny PT-AE900U).

The PS3 wrongly believes that it supports 1080p. Even though I unchecked that as a supported mode, when 1080/24 is set to automatic, it locks up the PS3. I guess it tries anyway.

I have always had this issue with my AE900U. In the video settings I can only put a check next to 720p and 1080i settings for it to work correctly. I really enjoy this projector even if I can't get 1080p out of it.
I have the 900u as well. What settings are you guys using on the new ps3 firmware options? I'll be downloading the new update this evening after work.

I haven't tried it with the new firmware. This weekend I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the info! So, if I selected "off" for this feature I can uncheck "1080i" from the resolution list, am I correct? Didn't try this out this morning after I installed the new firmware (need to go to work
)... will give it a try.

Alright people, I have the same projector as you guys and a PS3, I'm under the impression that for a PS3 to look best on an AE900U, you set the max resolution on the PS3 to 1080i and not 720P, correct?
I have both checked for output and then let my content that I am playing decide. If it supports 1080i I use it. I can not get 1080p/24 to work very well though.
Anybody think the "RGB Full" or HDMI white thing have any effect on the panny? didn't really notice anything on mine
I watched a Blue Ray for the first time today (The 5th Element). When I pulled up the Panny menu it said 1080P?

Does this mean that the projector took the signal and converted it to 720P?

I would think this would make the picture look bad, but it looked great. I will try again later with the 1080I and 720P checked on the menu.
