I have an Onkyo S6200 7.1 surround sound. I setup my PS3 to that receiver and a TV in the living room. I was thinking about getting a splitter for the PS3 so it can also hook up in the bedroom.
I just got the TV in the bedroom so I decided to just test the PS3 by itself hooked up to the new TV. When I played a blu-ray, I noticed that there was no voice coming from the movie. It dawned on me that the TV is only stereo where as the PS3 was set up for 7.1.
I had to go to the audio settings, reconfigure, and then voice was back on.
My question is, is there a way to make the PS3 automatically detect whether there is a 7.1 surround plugged into it, or a regular stereo output?
Or do I have to manually change the audio setting each time I go from the 7.1 system to the stereo TV?
Thanks.
