I finally flashed my Yamaha receiver and it now no longer clips BTB/WTW signals (yay!).

I'm using a NEC PX-50XR5 plasma display, so I can adjust HDMI black levels to either high or low (PC / video black levels).

Before I had set my PS3 to use RGB Limited, and BD/DVD output as YCrCb (with super white on??) and my PDP to video levels.

Now that my receiver can pass full hdmi signal, I want to use RGB Full.

So I set PS3 to use RGB Full, and set my diplay to accept PC levels.

However, if I keep BD/DVD output to continue using YCrCb output (and not RGB full), what should I do?

Do I toggle black levels to video levels when I watch a blu-ray?

Or since I have SuperWhite turned on for YCrCb I should set my display to accept PC black levels??

I'm confused...

Any help is much appreciated!

thanks

I"m not understanding why you don't leave it as it was? That's fine., YcbCr superwhite on, it doesn't clip, you get the full range, and 16-235 proper for video.

Because I want to use FULL RGB when I play PS3 games?

PS3 games don't output in YCbCr.

Instead of narrowing the RGB range to 219 levels (235-16), I would want to use full 255 level to reduce the banding and get more gradiation in games.

I guess I will have to toggle between the hdmi black levels when I'm watching a bluray or playing games if I wish to use FULL RGB.
