I wasn't really sure where to put this so please move the thread if its fits better somewhere else.

I was playing terminator salvation which was encoded in H264 on my PS3 the other day and noticed the dark night scenes had virtually indistinguishable characters. The screen looked more or less black. When I tried to play similar scenes on my computer everything was much more clear and defined.

Does anyone know if there's a setting I can change somewhere to fix this?

I'm playing it from the HDD of the PS3 on a Panasonic 50" G10.

Thanks

Yeah, it has to do with levels, TV (16-235) vs PC (0-255). The PS3 has options to change this in its settings, and many video processors do and so do some TVs. Any of them could be messing it up. They all have to be working together.
