Sorry if this has been asked before, I did do a brief search.
I have an older 5.1 channel sony reciever, one that does not have any hdmi inputs/outputs. It does have an optical input however.
It is my understanding that the PS3 has an optical output for audio. My question is, if I use the optical output to hook the PS3 up to my receiver while watching a blue ray or other DVD, will I still get accurate 5.1 channel sound?
