I'm new in Blue ray disc formats and know that BDAV is the format without menus I'm not sure the other format's name which allows making home made Blue Ray BDR/RE discs with menus... I assume only DVDit Pro HD can make that format but the question is will the sony PS3 play it?

You know, an awsome advantage of the PS3 is its media playback capability. For go burning th blu ray, and do 8.5 gig AVC encodes, which is almost transparent to HD DVD or BR quality.


Also - you can store the movies on the HD and have a mini jukebox. (PS3 HDD is upgradeable to multiple TB's, so you can add pretty much as much space as you could possible want)


The reason I say this - DL DVDR's are like less than a buck a pop, while blue ray disks are still outrageously priced.
