My Mits WD-73837 hasn't been professionally calibrated yet, but Blu-Ray movies thru the PS3 looks great, but PS3 game don't look good at all. Should the Video Output Settings be set to 720p only for 720p games?

Video settings:

Cinema Conversion: automatic

Upscale: off

BD/DVD Video Output Format (HDMI): Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr

DB 1080p 24 HZ output (HDMI): on

Display settings:

Video Output Settings: 1080p only

Cross Color Reduction Filter: off

RGB Full Range (HDMI): Limited

Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI): on

These are my tv settings:

Mode: brilliant

Contrast: 50

Brightness: 31

Color: 31

Tint: 31

Sharpness: 21

Color Temp: high

Video Noise: Med

I posted in the 2009 Mitsubishi Owners Thread (C9/737/837), but didn't get any response.

Thanks!

Here are the settings I'm using on my WD-65833.

Natural

Con 47

Brigh 34

Color 31

Tint 33

Sharp 25

Color Temp Low

DFI Off

PerfectColor

M 37

R 37

Y 30

G 37

C 35

B 28

PerfectTint

M 26

R 24

Y 29

G 40

C 37

B 28

These setting look great for pretty much all inputs - Blu-ray, cable/sat, PS3...etc.

As far as my PS3 setting goes it's quite similar to yours except I do not force 1080p out from the PS3 - most games are not 1080p (although we're now starting to see more at this level) and forcing them to scale is not always the "best". Often displaying the title at it's intended resolution produces are more accurate image...of course this is subjective.

Hope this helps.

thanks, I will try your TV settings.

For the PS3 setting...

Do you select all the PS3 resolutions, have it on auto, or do you select the highest resolution that your current game supports?

I select all resolutions the display is able to reproduce - so all are checked.
