PS3 to HTSS360 audio

I have been trying to figure this out from different discussions, however, i have not been able to find an answer. I am considering buying the Sony HTSS360 system to hook up to my "fat" 80GB PS3 via HDMI cable. I would like to know if I can get the full audio "experience" with this setup. I am not an audiophile, but would like to know if I can get some of the best sound possible from this inexpensive surround unit.

I own the s360, and have it hooked up to my Samsung BD-p3600, Xbox360, and satellite. I have to say this little unit does pack a punch, especially when watching blu-ray. However, it doesn't perform as well when playing music cd's, but that's not what I bought it for. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase, and easily recommend it.
ive had this HTIB for about a month, its cool. No regrets at all.
I also own this system.. very powerful.. no regrets at all.. though i dont own a PS3.. but i believe you set the sound settings on the ps3 to output via LPCM since you dont have the new slim model (it can output via Bitstream).
This is one of the systems I'm looking at right now (I just started a thread about it). I have similar questions! Also do I need Xbox's special 40 dollar cable instead of my basic HDMI cable since it's "pass-through."

No, connect Xbox HDMI cable to HTSS360, go into Xbox menu and set sound to 5.1.
