Thats right, the long awaited release of Yellow Dog Linux with support for the PS3's Wifi card has now been released via the Terrasofts affiliated public mirrors.

All you have to do is download the ISO from one of the mirrors listed at Terrasofts download page, and burn the ISO to a DVD disc. The ISO for version 5.0.1 includes all the files needed, including the bootloader as well as the updated kernels to get up and running via WiFi. Word of advice, be sure to burn the ISO at a low speed, 2.5x should be fine, as Sony Protection Group attempted to burn at max speed and the ISO did not burn clean, causing them to have to re-burn the image. Install was very easy and the E17 Interface is an absolute breeze to navigate.

If you do not have a DVD burner you may have to order the DVD through Terrasofts store, but, you also get more technical support as well as first dibs on all future updates before they are released on the public mirrors.

Keep your eye on Sony Protection Group for more information regarding Yellow Dog Linux in action on the Playstation 3!

I'm going to wipe my Ubuntu install and try YD for the first time. If you haven't purchased YDL from them, what are your options for installing software?

According to release notes, there is still no sixxaxis support. I was hoping for that one, too. I'm happy to use a bluetooth KB but don't want to have to use a damn mouse!

As for flash, I'm not sure. Youtube works on the standard PS3 browser, does it not?
