Hello all,

I've just bought this projector (my first) and am waiting for my screen to arrive later this week. I will be running 1 HDMI cable out of the Yamaha receiver to the PT-AE1000U. My question is about what should be doing the upconversion. The receiver can take any input to 1080i or 720p. I assume that the PT-AE1000U displays everything at 1080p. Is it better to do a "passthrough" on the receiver or feed the PT-AE1000U with the "highest" signal possible? I have HD-DVD, PS3, and SD-DVD players all going into the receiver. Does anyone else have a similar setup? Thanks.

I find the built in scaler is really good (better than my Sony DVD player), so I feed mine at 576p (PAL) and let the AE1000 do the upscaling. But by all means try it both ways and see which you prefer.
