Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post, but I figured that it was a good place to start.

I am trying to find out information about DVD movie presentations and public performance licensing. Commercial packages from satellite and cable seem to cover this angle and the audience you will be serving, but what can I do to take care of movies on dvd? Obviously this is beyond home use, and some of the same movies are on cable/sat packages, but I was curious to see if there was a subscription, membership, fee structure to cover general use.

From doctors offices, to family entertainment centers to schools, dvd movies are popped in all the time, but I have not yet found anything that would clarify this for a business and dvd movies. It seems that most licensing programs found on the web refer to individual licensing to show a particular movie at a specified time.

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Of course, once the above question is resolved, there is the complication of making the movie presentations by storing them on a server locally, or off-site for distribution. (On-topic, right?
)

This would help avoid commercials and programming mixed in with public content that does not fit within the type of public presentation we want to make. For example, HBO might show Wall*E on a weeknight but you need to be careful of what comes on before or after it if you want to maintain a "Family-friendly" broadcast.

Maybe there is a magic box that will sense out commercial breaks.
