I've heard that a couple of people that had old pulldown screens for slides were very thick and have no wrinkles. The problem is that they are typically 60x60. I have a Dalite 8x6' screen that has wrinkles. I motorized it and have it mounted inside my tray ceiling. So upgrading is not an easy task. I am however going to try to add tension cables myself. I can secure a thin black plastic covered cable to the main roller and then connect it to the bottom rail on the screen. I then plan on glueing velcro strips to the back side left and right edges of the screen and then I can adjust the tension as needed. I'll let you know if it works. I'm sure it is possible since this invention already exists in Stewart screens. I take it you ask because of cost. Good luck...

Fixed mount is best.

I have a Dalite matte "B" 96" X 72" pulldown and its ripple city. You really notice it on pans and it messes up the convergence in those areas. I will be building a fixed screen next...
