I have the opportunity to buy this setup(almost new):

Pioneer VSX-1019

Energy Classics(5 speakers)

Definitive ProSub 1000

all mounts/brackets/cabling(monoprice)

+someone else getting in the attic to run the cabling.

~800.00


It would be going in a very "echo'y" tiled 14x20 open living room used for movies and games.



Should i jump all over this?

are these used? sounds like a very reasonable deal considering the subwoofer alone is $499 retail

everything is about a year old, I was told everything is in mint condition.

The weakest part of that will be your room. Do you plan to put in area carpets or anything to help deal with the echo?


Then the next weakest link is the sub. Most often when people are looking at the ProCinema systems the suggestion is to buy the five speakers and get a better sub.


But $800 for a decent 5.1 with AVR is OK

haven't thought about that, but if a couple area rugs will help, I'll definitely pick up a couple

I'm prolly going to go pick up my new toys then!
