Purchase question

268 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  powellau
Ive been fortunate enough to have the hdtv bug as of late and not sure on when to buy one. Im looking currently at the 60" Sony SXRD and the new Sammy 6187. I plan (hope) to make a decision by no later than the end of December. My question is not based on waiting for something bigger and better, but getting the best price. Im concerned on buying one now when four months from now, when possibly new models come out, the prices will drop significantly. I wish I could get it now, but im patient enough to wait for a better price.

Would anyone know what their additional cost for their tv is for HDTV programming, cables, and a upscaling dvd?

Thanks,

Jeff

Trust me. By the time December rolls around the landscape will have changed so much it's likely that your current choices won't even be on your list anymore. The current SXRD will be old news by then but the 6187 may still be a good choice if you can still find one. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see LED based displays being the hot new"gotta have".
Ive had similar experience on buying computer parts on when to buy and when not to buy. I realize things will be different come december, but im analyzing when to buy a 60" tv under $3000 pre tax. The Sammy 6187 looks better everyday for the current deals I have seen. I dont see anything coming out between now and then thats brand new and under $3000. I will be waiting this time next year for new products to reach that kind of price.
