Okay, I need some serious help/advice
I am looking for a 120 electric projection screen for my newly purchased Mitsubishi HC4900. The projector is installed in the basement with good light control. I will be installing the screen inside a dropped ceiling (I have about 4 between the studs and the dropped ceiling). I'd like a screen with a small case that could fit inside the dropped ceiling, but if it sticks out, that is okay too. The screen does not have to have a case for a recessed ceiling.
I just purchased and received an Elite Screens Vmax2 120 screen. After installing it (it fit beautifully), and dropping the screen, the screen displayed many waves (see picture). This bugged the heck out of me, and so I just sent it back. I don't know if it was just a defective screen or they are all like that.
In any case, I have been looking for screens, and these are some of the options:
Replacement Elite Vmax2 - fits perfectly, but who knows if I will have the same problem
Elite Cinetension 2 121
Optoma Graywolf II 120
Da-Lite Cosmopolitan 119
I also just discovered Vutec screens, which seem pretty nice and reasonably priced.
I'd like a screen that has a wireless remote or a 12V trigger device. It seems like the Cosmopolitan does not come with anything standard.
I don't want to spend more than $1000, can I please get some recommendations?
Also, can I get some recommendations about which material would work best for me?
Thanks,
Alex
