I have a Polk CS130 Center Speaker, weighs ROUGHLY 20-30 pounds, and is ROUGHLY 22" eid by 6" deep. Right now it's on top of my 47" Widescreen RPTV. Under the speaker is a custom made "shelf" piece of glass, the same dimensions of the top of the RPTV to help support the weight of the center speaker.
Is this ok? Should I worry about the weight of the center speaker? The glass "shelf" is 1/4" thick, is this a good idea to help distribute the weight along the entire top of the unit?
As always, all help is appreciated! (Except those who say "get a front projection unit and this wouldn't be a concern" If this was an option, I would do so)
