I have a Panasonic TH42PX80U hooked up to P5N7VA-VM using HDMI. I've been playing around with the resolution in Vista to make it look good. I opted to use the custom resolution using NVIDIA Control Panel resize option. When I was all done, the custom resolution I ended up was 1213 X 682.

The TV has a resolution of 1024 X 768. How come Vista's resolution of 1213 X 682 perfectly fits the screen? What am I missing?

Check the Panasonic settings. In the setup menu you will find a setting which changes the overscan of the TV. I cannot remember what it is called, but I think it was in the "more" section, on the second page, near the bottom. The first page has the denoise and such on it.

One of the choices is larger than the other. Cycle through the two to see which you like.
