I just purchased a Sanyo Z1, which is on its way. I can't wait to play around with it. My problem is this: I watch about 50% DirecTV/Tivo, and I anticipate the image will be less than great. It may be a strange arrangement of priorities, but what would the combo of a CS-1 or 2 scaler and Z1 do for satellite broadcasts?? If there are other ideas for getting the most out of satellite from this pj, please share.

Have a Cinematrix PSM-1 installed in your DirecTivo. That is what I use and have been very satisfied with it. Although the quality won't look like DVD or HDTV, it is about as good as you will get it. It will stay digital all the way through scaling and output in RGBHV at the native rate of your projector or TV set. It will also have an option for anamorphic stretches for 16:9 and 2.35:1 movies if you have the panamorph lenses.
