When we had our antenna put up on our house this summer, channel 18 (Fox digital) wasn't able to be received at all -- solid signal strength of *zero*. Wasn't a big deal at the time, since the WB station was cross-carrying fox. When that stopped, I was bummed big time.

On a lark, today I retuned in channel 18, and lo and behold, am getting a signal strength of 80+! Which leads me to ask some questions:

1) Did KCPQ change anything since the summer? Did signal strength increase? The KCPQ chief engineer emailed me last week and said something to the effect that the vertical and horizontal phases were switched on their tower, although he indicated that they were still this way. Not sure what that means.

2) Or, could it have simply been an issue of the tower not transmitting while we were testing out the antenna that morning in August? After all, we're just getting a great signal strength right now.

In any case, I'm a happy camper.
