do i still have to have a antenna with a QAM tuner? or can i just plug up the cable to the back of the tv and thats all?

Just hook up the cable to the antenna port and have the TV scan for channels. Note that the number of unscrambled QAM stations vary by cable operator, but you should be able to receive all of the local "over the air" HD stations unscrambled.

so you cant just take the cable line from your satelitte and plug it in the tv?
