Before anyone says do a search, blah blah blah, I already have, hence my question.

I am looking at either the LC-52LE810UN or the LC-52D78UN.

I have read on here that "the quattron is utter junk and avoid it like the plague" But I have also read on here something that Chad B had said about the 60LE820 (which I imagine is close enough to the 810 that it would apply to it as well).

"But the LE820 will show you what HD is all about, with great contrast, clarity, and detail. In my opinion, it's a very good set in spite of Sharp's addition of the yellow filter, not because of it."

Is the 810 worth spending the extra $400 over the D78? This is for my bedroom which will almost always be watched from dead center and almost always in total darkness, even during the day

Thanks!

A picture is worth a thousand words...

They are targeting younger consumers who don't remember the failed marketing gimmick attempts of the 70s.

Some consumers think that this (adding yellow) is a totally new ground breaking idea that will change the game.

And get suckered into buying the marketing gimmick.

Didn't work back then. Won't work now. And no, it's not different this time around.

It's total marketing BS. All colors can be reproduced by a combination of Red, Green, and Blue. If there was any value to adding Yellow to the standard RGB system, then all the companies would be doing it. Buy a Plasma. You can't go wrong.
