Queens of Country

A new indie comedy directed by Ryan Page & Christopher Pomerenke, and starring Lizzy Caplan, Ron Livingston, Joe Lo Trugilo, Matt Walsh, and Maynard James Keenan (lead singer of Tool, A Perfect Circle).

Living in a fantasy era long gone and obsessed with old time country stars, the prettiest girl in a small Arizona town finds a lost iPod filled with songs that speak to her sensitive heart.

Wow! This looks really funny, will be watching for it's release (couldn't place where I had seen the lead actress, but finally recalled seeing her in "Cloverfield").

Not to mention, True Blood! Where you got to see a whole bunch of her....

Ain't that the truth.

Very fine, indeed.

Her being in it is the only redeeming thing about Cloverfield.

+2 Wow.

She's actually a very pretty, very witty and comically gifted actress. She starred in a short-lived series on CBS a few years ago called "The Class" about a bunch of late 20-somethings who were high school classmates and whose lives intertwine at the time of their 10-year reunion. The show wasn't that good, but she was very good in it.

She also starred in a great TV show that almost no one watched on Starz! (that's a network? they have their own shows? what channel is that anyway?) called "Party Down." It was hilarious and very well written and directed, with a terrific ensemble cast able to improvise extremely well. Unfortunately, Starz executives weren't committed to the show, and it got very poor viewership ratings and was cancelled after two 10-episode seasons. It's available on DVD, and well worth the money and time to watch it. It's comedy gold. Also, as a bonus, you can totally tell Lizzy Caplan has a smoking body in those form-fitting caterer outfits they wear. Anyone who saw that show wasn't surprised that she turned out to have a near perfect naked body in True Blood.
