I don’t exactly know if this belongs in “PJ’s Under $5K†but I will try here first.

I have an LT-150 being fed from an PC video output card.. The connection is VGA => VGA. I have managed to get my hands on an ISS-6010 switcher that has a VGA input card and an RGBHV output card. (Someone once told me that VGA and RGBHV are basically the same signals, just sometimes in different connectors - BNC Vs. 15-pin).

- Questions -

1. Can I go VGA (from PC) => SWITCHER => RGBHV (LT-150)?

2. Should I expect signal degradation going thru the NEC switcher?

3. Is it better to find/locate a VGA output card rather than use the RGBHV?

These maybe dumb questions but I figure you guys are the experts and if anyone would know it would be you.

Thanks guys,

Hello,

I have this same set up.

Answers to:

1 yes you can, just get a break out cable vga to 5 bnc;

2. I have not observed any negative impact on picture quality with this set up, however I did get ghosting from having my cable cross an extension cord so watch you wiring.

3. I don't see why you would need a vga output card.

Hope this helps,

Cheers.

Lee.
