I suspect this is a loaded question, since there are now multiple technologies floating around out there, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Is there any sort of concensus out there regarding what the best RPTV is, no holds barred, money no object, size no object (it can be as big as you want)?

As a second question, is there any sort of concensus on what RPTV might be the best value currently (and still be of acceptable quality for many on this forum).

No - there is no consensus - or everyone would be buying that set and ignoring the rest. Having said that, if you want the best PQ and don't mind the size (as you stated) - get a CRT RPTV and get it professionally calibrated by an ISF tech. Mitsu, Pio Elite or Hitachi.

The next improved versions of DLP, LCD and LCoS will be available well before you ever have to think about burn-in.

'nuff said.:D
