Today I downloaded the 2.8 firmware for my A2. Also downloaded the

instructions for howto. Everything worked as per instructions execpt

they stated that on 5/5 it would take 25 to 30 minutes to complete.

When my player got to 5.5 it took only 3 minutes to finish the update.The A2 is now at ver. 2.8 but I am wondering it something went wroung Also it said

the blue on light would flash blue then red during update, it didnt.

Everything is working great but I wonder if something is amiss.

I am pretty sure you got it.


I do find it helpful to re-initialize, as well as holding the power button in for an extended period of time to hard shut down and restart the player after some updates.

I just updated both of my A2's with 2.8, and they did exactly as yours. The last several versions were the same way. You should be fine. I've also never re-initialized, but I suppose it couldn't hurt.

What are the benefits of 2.8 over 2.7 for A2 owners?

I thought I had a problem, just wanted to be sure.

Also A2 still upconverts sd dvd after 2.8 upgrade.
