I recently had my CRT RPTV ISF calibrated. It looks great, but after watching a few movies it felt a little dark. So I popped in VE and the THX optimizer for SW:EpII and sure enough it was a little on the dark side. I bumped the brightness up a few notches.

My question is what affect, if any, will this have on the grayscale calibration?

Put the SW"EPII back in and go to the THX brightness test. See if you can tell any color differences in any of the boxes. Its very unlikely that you'll see any difference, but if you do, refer to the printed report that your ISF left with you and see if it shows an after calibration reading that would account for it. I think in the real world you often have compromizes in grayscale calibrations. In my set, to get the best overall picture, I have to allow a variation in the grayscale.
