I'm planning on a 120"diag 16:9 DW screen with the Epson 8500 UB mounted at about 12-13' from the screen, ceiling mounted. My questin is do you guys think the screen will hotspot with the projector that close? I'm looking for a pretty bright image as I will be viewing losts of sports with some ambient lighting ( very minimal).

I think you should be okay as long as you mount your projector at or above the top edge of your screen. To avoid hotspotting you want the screen to function as an angular reflective screen rather than a retroreflective screen.
