Hi I dont know much about HDCP and was wondering if I connected a Ps3 to a lcd monitor via a Dvi connection, that did not have HDCP support, would I be able to watch blu-ray movies?

I've read that if a tv or pc monitor does not have HDCP support then the blu-ray would display only at 720p.

But Ive also read that without HDCP support, blu-ray would display as only a blank screen..

Could someone please confirm if blu-ray would work without hdcp on lcd.

Thanks in advance

If I remember correctly, you would get a blank picture if you tried to send a 1080p/i or 720p signal to it, and you would have to output at 480p to be able to get a picture.

Either that or you get nothing

All of the monitors now are HDCP, so it may be a better option to just buy a new monitor with HDCP.
