Question about HDCP with OTA

1266 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  walford
Ok ...this is a very basic question. I have an older Zenith HDV-420 OTA receiver, and I'm sending a signal via component cables to my Panasonic AX200U LCD Projector. Is it possible that the signal is being downcoverted due to HDCP with the OTA signal?

The image looks terrible to me, but I know the PJ performs well with High Def material from my Xbox. I always thought OTA HD was the cleanest and best looking signal...

I don't think HDCP is applicable to component, only HDMI.
OTA ATSC broadcasts are not copy protected. All of the programs received are being scaled if required and then sent to your projector in what ever resolution you have set your receiver to send them in.
