Hey guys with hdmi connected to Hd Tivo to my Panny ed. I must say picture is sharper.. One thing I noticed is a bit more grain with thsi connection.. Is it safe to say that you can see more pq flaws with hdmi connection since its a better connection. Which means if a picture looks flawless it will look better than component but if a picture has alot of grain than compoent will hide this better. I have noticed that sometimes with hdmi the picture will look better and sometimes it will look worde...

I know I am hours away from ordering my screen and I am not sure if I want to order the HDMI blade and HDMI DVD player. I have heard the same reports of the picture being almost too sharp, and that blade isn't cheap.
yeah picture is crystal sharp but it does look better than component but on certain hd pictures the faces look to sharp but all you do is lower sharpness levels.. i do notice more grain on drama shows though.. anyone else compare component to hdmi with hd tivo and panny 42 ed

Make sure everything is equal - has the HDMI input been calibrated? There have been several comments about PQ differences between component and HDMI when using identical picture settings. BUT, you cannot use identical settings for these different inputs. When the component and HDMI is each calibrated separately - these pq issues seem to get resolved.
