I am a happy owner of a DLP HLP5063

and recently I purchased a Sammy LCD LNS3253 for the bedroom , my question is, when I change from an HD channel to a SD channel, my new LCD adjusts the screensize to fit with both formats, while Ive owned the DLP for 4 years, it has never done this, it will show 4:3 while viewing SD then go to widescreen during HD programing

They are both hooked up to a HD cable box.

Any ideas would help thanks

You must have your LCD set to display everything in 16x9, rather than displaying things in their native format. You can change this in the video menu.

The settings in the cable box need to be adjusted for the type of display you want. Look into the menu of the cable box on your DLP and duplicate those settings on the LCD's cable box, and it should work the same.

Keep the tv set to 16:9 and let the cable box do the sizing.

PS: Did you know that the LNS was last year's model? LNT's are this year's.

Yes I did get this TV last year, but never really gave it much thought....dont use the bedroom set very much.

I will try the adjustments of the cable box , thanks for the input.
