I have what I think was one of the first consumer DVD units, the Toshiba SD-3006. Manufactured in March 1997... Anyway, I was dusting it off to put in the basement when I noticed that it has a component video output. Don't know how I missed that before...

Anyway, probably a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone knew whether I would get progressive scan output if I used the component output? The user manual doesn't say anything one way or the other, but it wouldn't since "progressive scan" wasn't a marketing point back then...

If not progressive, is there any value to using these component outs?

Thanks.

Its not progressive, and there are advantages to using component connections as opposed to composite or s-video.
