Hi everyone,
I was reading a review about this STB/DirecTV receiver, and came across the follwing lines:
"Useable with 4:3 HDTV-ready sets that don’t compress the raster"
"The 4:3 mode will allow 4:3 HDTV-ready sets that do not compress the raster (like RCA and the X81-series Toshiba) to display 16:9 material with gray bars above and below the image."
Now, my question is, how can I know whether or not the set does or does not "compress the raster". For example, I was checking out the Toshiba 43H70 4:3 HDTV ready set; In reading the product specs, I have no idea if this set compresses the raster or not.
Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance.
