Question about resolution and new 19" Westinghouse LTV19w3

I am looking for a flat panel lcd for a good mix between PC use and TV use, but probably a little more PC use. I want to stay under $500 and would like it to be widescreen(I will watch a lot of movies and play around with HTPC stuff and gaming). I have gone back and forth on a couple different displays and recently saw the Westinghouse LTV 19w3 model at BB. This looked very nice in store and had a very slim and simple design. It has both DVI and VGA for pc use and has a higher resolution of 1440x900. I know the higher resolution is better for most pc use but because it is an unusual res. I am afraid that games will not support this resolution. Does anyone see this unique res. as a problem for pc gaming (and maybe console gaming if I ever go that route)? Also, if anyone has any input on other monitors I should look at in this price range please lend your suggestions. I would ultimately like something bigger than 19", but I just do not see to much in my price range. I have been really leaning heavy towards the dell 20.1" but the Westy can be had around the same price and even though I lose an inch I gain with more inputs and a tv tuner. What do you guys think? I have also thought about the new gateway 21" but it seems to be almost $150 more than what I can get either the dell or the Westy for. I would love a 23" or 24" like the dell 2405 but I really do not want to spend upwards of $650-700.

I bought this tv for my sone for x-mas. He uses as tv, computer monitor and for xbox. It works great for all three. As for gaming, we have an ATI 700 pro video card and the 1440x900 resolution is specifically supported and looks awesome.
