I am getting Panny BD30 for my new setup. I currently use the STR-DE885 as my main receiver.


Can I still use this receiver in 5.1 mode with the optical or coax outs from my BD30 or will I have to many issues?


Should I upgrade, and what would my best options be for around $300-450?


I currently have a Panny th-50pz700 which is 1.3 compatible.

Ever find anything out about this? I also have the STR-DE885 and am considering purchasing the Phillips BDP-7200/F7, and have heard of the issues. Most of the people I've heard of with this issue are experiencing it through BD playback on the PS3.?. So i'm very concerned to say the least. I'm in your boat, don't want to drop the cash on the player, if my receiver won't play DD. I have to have DD...
