Question About The Sony Bravia XBR2/XBR3 Series

845 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  svalentine
In the next couple months I plan on buying the KDL-40XBR2. I will be setting the TV on a glass top TV stand. I noticed when I was looking at the online manuel it says you need to attach the "Support Belt" to prevent toppling over. Well my TV stand is only made out of Glass and metal. Should I get another TV stand or is there something else I can do to use the support belt. Or do I even need to use the belt at all? Thanks

I have two Sonys and I haven't attached either strap.

The sets are perfectly stable on a reasonable and level surface.

Unless you have kids/pets that will be running into it I wouldn't worry about it.

Frankly, I think including the stability strap is just a Sony lawyer's way of minimizing possible claims from people who have gone out of their way (intentionally or unintentionally) to tip their sets over.

*Edit- I should have stated that neither of my sets are the XBR2/3 but the XBR stands look just as stable as the S2400 stands to me.

Perfect, thanks for the reply! I can't wait to hook up my PS3 to this new bravia!
