I've been reading the owner's manual for this unit (haven't bought one yet) and am a little puzzled by something.

If I have a satellite and OTA antenna (for digital channels) do I have to diplex and bring both signals in through the 'satellite in' jack? The manual sorta suggests this.

Can I hook the OTA antenna to the 'antenna' jack (or whatever it's called) and the satellite to the satellite jack? Are there any unpleasant consequences for doing this?

Also, does the unit come with component and toslink cables?

Thanks,

You just plug the Antenna into Antenna In. The Diplexing only becomes necessary when you add Cable to the mix (along with the other two). This is a topic that is mentioned in AVS because the RCA DTC-100 has two Antenna Inputs, and now the new boxes don't.

Just to confirm what Bill said and to say it another way.

You can hook it up either way. The DST-3000 will let you tell it how you hooked it up.

Thanks for your responses. That clears up a lot of my confusion.

What about the cables? What's included?

Thanks again,

You get a set of component cables with left/right audio cables attached.

You will need to get a separate toslink cable for digital audio. And might want to upgrade the component video cables.
