You should have two seperate cable line ups --

Call customer service and give them your location and cable

provider.

On line one you should use a <your provider/area> digital cable lineup

On the RF input you should use something like <your provider/area> cable lineup OR <your provider/area> cable ready TV lineup OR <your area/provider> rebuild lineup

Then you should be set up to work just fine

Yes, the Replay has a tuner just like every tv and vcr. You will not get scrambled channels, of course.

If this is available to you, I'd say select the Digital lineup for one input, and the analog (Called "Rebuild") for the other, then adjust your channels to show only analog from input x, and only digi from input x.

I havent tested it, but I believe this would work.

Lemme know.

Thanks,

Marc

Sadly there is only one lineup listed that's correct and is both analog and digital with the correct lineup. Zipcode is 98055 if anyone wants to have a try http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Possibly I missed a step:

1)Call up Replay technical service on the phone.

2)Tell them where you are and who your cable provider is and that you need A)Digital and B)"Rebuild" or "Cable Ready TV" lineups added. Find out the name of the person you talk to so you can follow up and nag to get it added if they are slow about it. Get a case number assigned to make it easier to track.

2A)Wait a day to a week

3)You need to change your settings and force a new dial in to get this to work. Try changing to a nearby zip code -- and it should force your system to reset. You may have to go through the whole setup process. When you finish, go back to your normal zip and to set up the cable box use the "digital" or box lineup; for the RF use the "cable ready TV" or "rebuild" lineup.

TECHNICAL SERVICE WILL ADD THE LINEUPS YOU NEED --

but they may not tell you to reset the Replay box.

I get AT&T Digital Cable but I have a signal splitter that separates it before it goes to the cable box.

The way I have the ReplayTV set up is this: Line 1 - from cable box, Antenna - from raw cable feed.

The way I'd like the channel guide to work is to have the antenna used for the analog channels, and line 1 used for digital cable. If I select the same listing set for each feed, however, it doesn't work and basically it ignores line 1.

I have it kind of working by mapping line 1 to an alternate lineup -- some of the channels are missing, however since it's actually for another area.

Is there any better way to do this? http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

SOFTWARE: 3.0 Build 18

The changed-around lineup is "rebuild". In Lee's case, it sounds as though he simply needs a regular analog cable lineup (or cable-ready TV).

That's exactly it Mike, in fact, the proper lineups now appear in the Replay setup so I'm all set! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

The only downside is for some reason it mapped the analog lineup in the 1000+ range but that's ok. (Oddly the analog setup was done first)

Lee,

Do you mean that if you split the cable coming in and run one to the Digital box and one straight to an RF input that you get Digital and Analog cable? If so THANK YOU! I've been asking this question to MANY people who have Digital cable to find out if I can split it and get the Digital when I want it, but only analog if I don't want it.

My main reason for wanting this is that Digital has a couple channels (Speedvision being the main one) I'd like to have, but afer seeing the digital boxes and the excrutiatingly slow channel changes (same reason I rarely use RTV in live mode) I only want to use Digital when I need a channel that isn't on the analog cable.

Plus the other reason is so that I can send the raw analog into my bedroom for that TV.

a)I have described this setup MANY times

b) do you have the IR Blaster settings optimized for your box? I have described the best settings for sciemtific atlanta explorer 2000 boxes; others have done so for the general instruments DCT 1000 and 2000 series... If you haven't read the Faq, do some searches on "digital cable", "DCT", or look for my posts...

If you have your IR settings optimized, it should take a second or so to change a channel... If you don't, it can take 10 seconds
