For those who have the 8oz Popcorn popper that is popular on eBay.

In terms of cups ets how much Popcorn, oil and popcorn salt do you use?

I know that there are the premeassured packs and I may eventually go that way but it is cheaper to buy a big bag of popcorn the special popcorn oil and the flavored salt. I jsut don't know what measurements to start at. After that I can adjust it to taste.

Thx

It should tell you in the booklet or what not that comes with your corn popper.

8 ounces of popcorn, 2 ounces (or thereabouts) of coconut oil, Flavacol to taste (about 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon to start). MAKE SURE you put the Flavacol in when you put in the corn to pop, not after you pop it!

Warm up the kettle, turn on the motor, add oil, add corn and Flavacol when oil is melted. Popping ensues shortly thereafter.

I would strongly advise you beginning with the Mega Pop to start; I've used both - trying to save money. There is really not that much of a difference buying the ingredients separately. (I will add that I have a local Gold Medal store in my city, so all I have to do is drive by and pick up a case or two. I pay no shipping)

Thank You Pam!

That surprises me to hear that there is not much difference in cost with the premade packs. The only concern I had is you don't like the taste with the packs you can't adjust them.

Thanks again your help is appreciated!

Actually, you can adjust the taste with Mega Pop. Of course, your only adjustment is going to be the Flavacol. If you do not want as much, there is a corner you can clip with scissors and dump out the Flavacol, thereby getting only the corn and oil.

I have found, however, that the mix is just right for us "As Is"!
