I just bought a new Sharp LCD HDTV (arrives in 5 days, can't wait!), and I'm thinking about how to set everything up. Very excited about using the new TV as a HTPC, esp. with Halflife 2 coming out. I have a question.


Is it possible to set up my PC to be able to switch between my pc monitor and the HDTV at startup? i.e. Can I plug both of them into my x800 pro and use the TV when I want to game and the monitor when I just want to surf the web and such? The ATI manual is woefully underwritten. I'd like to hook up the TV through the DVI port and the monitor through the VGA port and switch as needed.


Possible? Thanks in advance for any insight.

An X800? That's pretty awesome (I'm only running a 9800XT.) Anyway, I'm pretty much positive that you can do that. Go to the ATI Display Settings (there should be an icon in the rightmost part of the taskbar. From there, you'd select "displays" and that gives you the options you're probably looking for.
