Here's something that didn't occur to me when I purchased my Panasonic DMR-E80H: How do I keep the remote from interfering with my Panasonic CP-72 (and vice-versa)? For example, when I want to turn one on, they both come on.

One concern is that if I'm watching a DVD while DVR recording, a DVD remote action may have an annoying consequence...I don't see a clear solution.

Thanks for looking! -Dave

A potential solution is to use a programmable remote like the Home Theater Master MX-800. This unit has both RF and IR capabilities. It comes with a base unit that receives RF and has ports for addressible IR blasters. You just plug in a shielded blaster (blocks direct IR), and program the remote to route the IR to the address associated with each unit.

Thanks for the reply.

However, I failed to heed the first mantra of The Sacred Order of Videophiles: "Thou shalt first consult the manual". Panasonic had already addressed my dilemma, and I was able to reprogram the DVR remote and unit to be incompatable with the DVD. Whew...
