Seems like most recievers with the 5.1 analog inputs have an amp section that now goes from 20hz to 100,000 for extended frequency response. What about separate amps.? I have only seen these rated from 20 to 20,000 hz. Does it mean that an external amp wont have the frequency extreme that you need for dvd audio or sacd's? tia.

Frequency response has nothing to do with DVD-A or SACD. Their advantages are in the RESOLUTION.

The performance differences seen from different amps using conventional sources like LPs or CDs will still be evident with DVD-A or SACD sources. BTW it has absolutely nothing to do with published frequency response specs.
