I would like to be able to record TV to my PC. Mainly HBO, movies etc.

I have a nvidia graphics card already on my PC. When I record TV and play it do I have to hook everything to the TV card? Or can I use my graphics card to output the recorded result? or Would this involve me swapping output cables after I record?

What is a decent TV card I can get to do this?

I just want to make sure I understand this correct before I buy the hardware.

Thanks

Your computer will playback anything you record to it. All you would have to connect to the TV card would be your cable input. If you want to record with the best, readup on the Hauppauge HDPVR 1212. It accepts component input which will give you great quality.
