Question on refurbished DENON DHT-1513BA and Onkyo HT-S3500

OK, I am finally going to take the plunge and get an entry level home theater system. I have a budget of about 400-500 dollars, but if I can get a product that is really good for a little less, I would like to go that route.


I have it narrowed to two that I have been really looking at: DENON DHT-1513BA and Onkyo HT-S3500.


I have read that the Onkyo has overheating problems and malfunctions quickly due to this. The Denon is at the very top end of my budget, but accessories4less has refurbished systems for $350.


Has anyone bought one of the refurb Denon's? Is all well, and is it silly for me to be worried about buying a refurb? Does the Onkyo have bad overheating problems, and would it be a vastly inferior choice to the Denon?
