To the extent that the output channels can use the power not being used by the idle channels - yes. If the transformer can output 600 watts and you are using only the front 2 channels this doesn't mean it will deliver 300wpc. More likely it'll be somewhere around 100-120wpc. Just like a light bulb - the potential for more wattage is there but it is only capable of drawing what it was designed to draw.

If I'm only using 5 channels of this receiver, will the power from the other 2 channels get re routed to the 5 channels thus increasing power to the 5 channels over the 90W spec? The manual doesn't go into that.
