In an attempt to lower the input latency on my UE55F8000, I've recently tried renaming the HDMI port used for console gaming to "PC" (the rename trick). As far as I can see, this hasn't lead to any image degradation, nor has it disabled any of the menu options that were previously available. This leads me to question if the "rename trick" is actually working on my TV.

Questions:

1. Should I enable "game mode" before renaming the HDMI port?

2. Does the rename trick only work in certain image modes (i.e. Movie or Standard)?

3. Is there any way to tell that the rename trick is working, besides measuring change in input latency?

4. What menu options should be disabled after successfully applying the rename trick?

Many thanks for your input!
