Hello,

One os my friend just spent US$4000 and got a old, second hand Mitsubishi LVP-L1000 Projector (a.k.a. FV100 jap version) and a Skyworth 1050 DVD with VGA output. No matter what he did, he only got a shifted down picture that the upper margin of the picture is at the center of the LCD projected image. He already turn all the way up the horizontal shift button, and no help. but he can get a normal image when the DVD is connected to a computer monitor.

Anybody could help him? I know many ppl from HK own this projector before, please give him a hand! I know this projector is very very very very old, and the best solution is to get a new AE100, but my friend don't want to spend too much on projector.

typo-error: should be US$400, not US$4000.

US$4000 is more than enough to get a TW100.

Sounds like the PJ is screwy with syncing to the Skyworth. Buy a cheapest VGA cables and try breaking off the vertical sync. pin (I forget but either pin 13 or 15) to see if it'll fix the problem (if it does not work then you're just out $3-4 USD. If it does then invest in a nicer cable.

Another option is to forgo the Skyworth and use HTPC which has the vertical shift option using YxY (free overlay image aspect adjuster), Zoomplayer (free DVD front end--requires DVD software player to work), or Theatertek (DVD player--$70). HTPC should work as this older PJ was designed to work with PC for presentation and not really designed for HT and may be incompatible with STB DVD player even via VGA.
