I am looking to purchase a new rear projection TV (Samsung 6187 or Sony A2000) very soon, and I have a couple questions about HDMI:


1. My receiver doesn't handle HDMI, how do I then send the video to the TV and the audio to the receiver?


2. I know the Monster cables are waaay overpriced, but are the cheap HDMI cables at monoprice just as good? Does the AWG matter much?

1. HDMI plugged directly into tv. Turn tv sound off. Audio cables plugged directly into your receiver.


2. HDMI cables are all about equal. If they work, they work. Go for the monoprice or ask your HD cable installer to give you one. Some will and then it's free. AWG would matter if the run distance is very, very long. If not, get the cheapest.
