I'm thinking of rebuilding my home theater around a set of Dahlquist DQ-10's that I have rebuilt. They use a DQ-1W sub. Right now the sub is connected to a passive xover with a two channel stereo system. I have a separate home theater system.

If I rebuild with the passive sub, I'll drive it with a 400w monoblock. If I connect that to the LFE out of a pre/pro, will I need an additional active xover? In other words, is the LFE out of the pre/pro already low pass filtered?. I've only ever used active subs for home theater with their own tunable xovers.

Dahlquist makes a sweet active xover, the LP1, but I don't have one (yet).

BTW, if I upgrade, I'm considering Emotiva (UMC-1, XPA-5); opinions?

Thanks
